Andi and Steve: Guasti Villa

Andi and Steve were married at Guasti Villa on June 10th. The location was lovely and it was a perfect match with the guests and wonderful couple. I was super excited about the scenery around Guasti, too. There are seriously soooo many amazing places to shoot in the Guasti Village and surrounding areas. I was glad that Andi was up for getting her dress a little dusty and trekking around to find the perfect old house to take pictures in front of and experiment with some moody fine-art style images... make sure to take a look at the ones of Andi and Steve in front of the old red building. Steve is a fire fighter and we think this might have been an old fire house... how perfect!

Steve and Andi: Poltrabend

I'm back... :)

So... a few weeks ago I had the pleasure of being a part of the "day before" festivities/BBQ for Steve and Andi. They held a very special event at Andi's parents' home in the desert. The event is called a Poltrabend and is a pre-wedding German tradition where family and friends come together to eat, drink and celebrate the coming together of the happy couple and watch them perform one very special tradition. What's the tradition, you ask? Well, each guest brings a piece of pottery which the couple will break (getting out some of that pre-wedding anxiety!). The key, though, is not in the breaking of the pottery (though the broken pieces are supposed to bring the couple good luck) but, instead, it is in cleaning up the broken pieces... together, symbolizing that nothing will be broken in their house again.

It was a really fabulous day and event and I can't wait to share the wedding pictures from the day after... Andi looked simply beautiful... you'll have to wait and see... coming soon... :)

I'm still alive!!!

It's been a while since I've blogged... and there's so much to share! I've been under the weather in a pretty big way but I'm on my way back to wellness. ;) So... be on the look out for not one, but two fabulous weddings soon!

Nensie and Sal are having a baby!

Nensie and Sal, who Matt and I are blessed to call great friends, are expecting their first baby this summer. I had the pleasure of taking their first "family" pictures with all three of them (in the belly counts!). Sal and Nensie are both so excited for little Emma to arrive. Sal couldn't stop showing me Emma's 4-D ultrasounds... you could actually see little Emma's face... incredible! He's already so proud of his little girl... as is Nensie. :) Thanks for letting me capture this important time in your lives, guys. I can't wait until Emma is born.
